Why Luna?
Nancy: I like Luna because she's her own self and even though Harry's in Gryffindor she still supports him.
Gloria: I like Luna because, well, she's just not like everyone. I am kind of like her. Not really, but she just wants to be herself so there’s nothing wrong with that. Right? Well I think that anyway!!
Aemelie: She’s adorable.
K.M.: I love Luna Lovegood because of her character & her loyalty & also because she is unique. She believes in weird things that I don't think exist in Harry's world, yet I am convinced by her talk.
Holly: I love Luna because she is a loser and I think losers are awesome! I wish I was a loser too, but I’m too cool to be a loser. Shazam!
Julia: I really love Luna, because she is not afraid to be herself. She likes to wear huge lion heads, and radish earrings, but that does not make her weird. She is really smart, and brave to have gone to the Ministry of Magic. Everyone makes fun of her, but she doesn't exactly care. She believes in many creatures that probably don't exist. But, she, Harry, and Neville can see the Thestrals, the not-so-invisible horses.
Ashley: I love Luna because she is quirky, friendly, and a wonderfully unique character. She charmed me right from the start when I saw her being so strange, yet still nice. She has mysterious qualities to see the truth in people, and I love her.
Rach: I love Luna because she’s sooo different and unusual. She doesn’t really care what people think about her and she wears (in the books) fantastic clothes!
Debbie: I like Luna because she is different, better, pretty and she has something that ‘so I may be boring but I have talent.’
Kassandra: Luna is AWESOME! She is totally the meaning of...well...ME!
Alysse: Odd...Different...Just the way I like characters.
Elizabeth: Crazy. That's cool!
Adelede: Luna rocks my socks, baby!
Anne: Well, she looks nice and friendly I have liked Luna since Order of the Phoenix came out.
Travis: I love Luna because she's different, she's the only superstitious person I can remember in the Harry Potter series...and also I find some stuff I have in common with her.
Danny: Luna is the most honest and one of a kind girl! Luna is NOT crazy! She's just an oddball, but has her brains about her and sense of right and wrong. I'd prefer HER to Ms. Brown, Patil... even Chang. We'll see how well Evanna stands up to the challenge of "protruding, slightly mad eyes". I am definitely looking forward to it!
Rahul: Luna is so cool in that she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her (a little like Hermione). She sticks with what she believes (though many of them are weird). She's so funny and crazy in a good way. She's brave and honest. She loves her life even though with the tragedy in her life. Though everyone insults her and steals her stuff and all she isn’t bothered and, more importantly, she doesn’t blame them.
Rebeca: Because she is crazy and she is so like me; she and Tonks are my favorite characters.
Delancy Wingermanne: Because she is quite the character and she always does something unexpected. She also works the radish earrings & butterbeer cork necklace.
Lily: She isn't popular, she doesn’t fit in like me, she is funny and smart in her – err - own special way, and she has AWESOME fashion sense, I love her earrings!!
Elphie: Luna is my favorite character because she's not popular, different, and unique. She's not like any other character... I think. She has this personality that makes her so... amazing! She doesn't care what people say; it's like she's saying 'Its just life!’ She's really like me. For one thing, we're both weird and random. It's funny how she makes all these false facts and how she thinks they're true. I just think that's rather funny to point out. Evanna is going to do such a good job of playing Luna!
Maxwell: I like Luna because she's unique and she's nice to the other houses. She seems like she would be an entertaining friend!
Jerri: I love Luna because she's smart, funny, and everything she says always somewhat makes sense and is related to the subject that she is talking about. And that’s why is why I love Luna Lovegood.
Mariah: At first I didn't know what to think of Luna because she was so... different. Then you start to understand her and realize that she wants to be herself no matter what. You can tell at the end of the Order of the Phoenix that she doesn't really like being an outcast... but she wants to be herself and she doesn't care. I also started seeing a little of myself in her at times. Maybe I don't wear radish earrings or a Butterbeer cork necklace, but I still do do some unique things that others may think... odd.
Ashley: I like Luna ‘cause I think she is original, which many people don't like being! She's very happy with the way she thinks and she doesn't care what people think about her even if she may be a bit wierd! (LOL!)
I also pity her some but only like a friend in a nice way ‘cause every one calls her LUNNY LOVE GOOD
I think her name is wonderful!
Shelby: I like her because she has a sense of pride in herself and she’s unique.
Madi: Luna is awesome! She may be wacky but she is still cool! I like it in the 5th book when Harry 1st notices the thestrals and Luna says in a calm voice they have always been there! I also like the part when Harry asks Luna to the party and she says, “You want me to go to the party AS FRIEMDS! NO ONE HAS EVER ASKED ME TO A PARTY AS FRIENDS! YOU HAVE YOUR EYEBROW DIED SHOULD I DIE MINE TOO?” Then Harry says, “NO!” That makes me laugh even though I have read it many times!
Abby Jensen: I love Luna so much because she shows us you don't have to be cool or popular to do great things. She is still Harry’s friend not because she is cool but because she speaks the truth and is true to herself. I would love to play Luna but that is impossible because I live in the U.S. but I don't think anyone makes a better Luna than Evanna. I was happy to find out she does not eat meat because I don't either and respect her for that. Also she has two cats, I love cats but can't get any because my mom is allergic but if I did get a cat it would be ginger and I would name it Crookshanks like hers.
GO LUNA! AND EVANNA!
Lindsey: I love Luna all the way from her Nargle insecurities to her Radish earrings! Why, you ask? (Well you might not have asked... but anyway) because she can relate to everyone who is a little off beat and to their (our) feelings and thoughts. She is just so honest and is just so much her own being that you can't help but respect a character like that. She looks at everything in a different way, and that is refreshing!
Nicole: I absolutely love the character Luna Lovegood mainly because she's such a funny character. She's purposefully different from all the rest of Rowling's characters and I love that. Luna compliments the characters of Harry, Ron, and Hermione very well.
Melissa: I love Luna because she's so different. She makes me smile, laugh, and think about the things in life I take for granted. I never really realized how much I treasured my mother until the end of the 5th book when Harry and Luna are talking. I also love Luna because she's so faithful. Everyone needs a little faith at times, and Luna has that and is not afraid to say so. I also love how Luna is very opinionated and doesn't care what people think about her. I like that she's independent and doesn't need the friends and compliments to make her confident. She clicks with everyone at least a little bit, and that's cool. I also like the fact that you can look up to her, and not see a snobbish character there.
Mo: I like her because she’s so unique and different and adds light and hope to the series. I also believe she is strong minded and very open minded. She is someone who would cheer you up on a down day. She rocks!!!
Jennifer Cozart: I love Luna because she is so confident in everything she says and does, no matter how far-fetched. Also she doesn't seem to care about what everybody else thinks about her.
Cynthia: I love Luna because she's unlike any character! Sure she believes in kooky stuff *might be real* But she's herself and she doesn't try to change for anyone even if she does like Ron. She stays true to herself despite of what others might think of her and her dreamy personality is somewhat refreshing aside from the hero, and sidekicks and all the angst. I admire her for the sole purpose that she has had a hard life *loosing mom* she still goes on and she us very loyal and smart and brave *why she's not in Gryffindor house is beyond me* She knows who she is and she knows what people think of her and she does have feelings, she is a human after all, witch or not she still doesn't care and keeps on going.
Anna: Luna just cracks me up. She has her own little world that she lives in, and she kind of just goes with the flow. If you don't like her, it's, “Whatever.” She is a big individual. She is very quirky, unique, and awkward. I also think she has a sense of honesty that everyone in the world needs. She's not afraid to tell it like it is. But when she says stuff, it's not in a mean way, it's in a dreamy, funny way. I just love Luna.
Brandon: Eh, you rock. You and you're giant blue eyes.
Amelia: Cause she is awesome and just like me..
She is funny and adds humor to the dark aspects of the books. She has her own style and doesn’t give a dang about what others say about her. She is different from everyone else.
It seemed unnatural for Hogwarts not to have a quirky odd-one-out kind of character, but now it does. But hey, what high school doesn’t?!
