The Serenity of the Whomping Willow

Name: Livia Nemeth
Story:

He had liked the blonde girl since the first time he saw her on the Hogwarts Express. Since she confessed her secret of being able to see thestrals. Since forever.
He could not wait for classes to be over, so he could see her in the hallway. She always used to give him desire-filled looks. He did not actually like her. He loved her.
Of course, there was that thing with Lavender, but that was over even before it started. Since then, their friendly relationship had taken an odd turn. Luna would avoid him, passing him in the halls, not talking to him at breakfast. Nonetheless, whenever she looked at him, she would have an I-Want-You-So-Bad look in her eyes. He could sometimes swear he could see her soul through her eyes.
For others, that was a fraction of a second, but their gaze was so much more. Every time he looked at her, or even thought of her, a warm, familiar feeling would overcome his chest, his body, his mind. Just the thought of him going to the Yule Ball with Padma would trigger him off. ”I didn’t know her then-" he tried to calm himself. He would have wanted to go with her. He loved her with every fiber of his being. He wanted to dance the night away with her, to walk in the moonlight and to kiss her under the Whomping Willow.
But of course, that never happened. But Ron won’t let it be like this. He wanted to snog with her under willow tree, and he will do just about everything to not let that moment pass.
He had left a piece of parchment on her plate at dinner. It was a little uncomfortable walking over to another house’s table and leaving a piece of parchment there with all those stares, following him.
Just a nonchalant message on it:

Meet me at the Whomping Willow immediately. R.W.

She had no choice. She gave her bag to a fellow Ravenclaw, trusting him to take it up to the common room.
She could sense the air was thicker than usual outside. The tree wasn’t far from the castle. Luna had just stepped on the wet grass, when the peaceful spring rain started. She paced toward tree, making out the shadow of his best friend. He was leaning on the tree watching the moon. As she got close, his silhouette turned towards her, and without warning embarrassed her. Pulling her close, the pair of souls became undone, where were two now where one. His hand in hers, the castle, the grounds, they’ve all disappeared. Everything was smoke around them. She had hoped, and she had dreamed, but she never believed it would happen to her. Not like it does in the muggle films. But when it actually happened, it was perfect. She didn’t want it to be different. It was perfect. So deep. So real.
They didn't notice a sixth year Gryffindor looking at them through his glasses with a very famous scar on his forehead. He'd never talked to Ron about this, but deep inside he didn't have a best friend anymore.
