Happy Holidays

From everyone here at ELF, we would like to wish you a very merry Christmas (or happy holiday depending on where you are from) and a prosperous new year. It has been a very active 12 months for Evanna - we have seen her attend numerous different events from star studded film premieres, to glamorous award ceremonies all over the country. 2008 also saw Evanna completing her role as Luna Lovegood in her second film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is due for release in the summer of next year. It has also been a busy time here at ELF, with many of the team beginning new chapters in their lives, and we would like to extend our gratitude to them for helping make this place what it is and wish them the best of luck.

2009 looks set to be an exciting year with plenty of things to look forward to. Evanna will begin working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which will be split into two films with a release slated for 2010 and 2011, and then there is also the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in the summer. We have already witnessed a transition in Evanna growing into a young woman and in August she will celebrate her 18th birthday, where did all those years go...?

More closer to home, ELF will be embarking on a new journey. Our website will have a new look, and perhaps the most exciting of all, a brand new EXCLUSIVE interview with Evanna herself!

Evanna attends JK Rowling's reading of Beedle the Bard

Earlier on today Evanna, along with her co-stars Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan) and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) attended JK Rowling's reading of the Tales of Beedle the Bard at the National Library of Scotland.

MuggleNet staff member Christie was lucky enough to get into the building for a few minutes, then after that she managed to meet Evanna outside when she was leaving. In her report she stated:

I introduced myself to Evanna as "Christie from MuggleNet." She lit up at the sound of the site, and told me that the event was amazing and "it's always so nice to hear her reading."

She said that it was more personal to hear Jo reading her own work, and that she was "really impressed with the fairy tales." We chatted about how moral the stories are, and Evanna was kind enough to humor us by letting us take some photos together.

We now have a picture of Evanna with Christie and her friends outside the library.

Original Signed Photograph Put Up For Auction

The original copy of the signed photograph that many of you received was recently put up for auction as part of the Crystal Ball 2008 charity event, with the proceeds going to Make a Wish Foundation Ireland. In the article here it mentions that Evanna Lynch signed this photograph in the presence of Fidelma Murray in Leavesden Studios, Herts, Eng. and is genuine.

At present we do not know how much it sold for, but we will update as soon as we hear anything.

Matt Lewis on Evanna

A little over a month ago I went to my yearly nerd convention called Dragon*Con. Matthew Lewis was there representing Harry Potter and I went to a panel where he answered all sorts of questions. At one point, we were able to get up and ask him anything we liked. My question was obviously Evanna related and it was, "What was it like working with Evanna Lynch because she is as crazy as we are ["we" meaning HP fans!] and then she got the part of Luna?"

Matt: She's lovely, she's really nice, and she's such a big fan I mean it was incredible to see her face when she first came to the studio, and see the sets, and everybody else was like you're one of us now Evanna its ok you can do whatever you want now, but she was so starstruck by the whole thing and her eyes just lit up and it hit me right here and I thought wow, and for her to be given that role it meant so much to her and infact it was great, and shes a fine actress and a really lovely gentle person.
